The trend, explained

What is the Robot Girl trend?

Robot Girl, also called Android Girl, is a series of short AI videos from the account @cozy.techdreams. A handheld phone shot at a big tech expo shows a young woman who looks fully human except for an opening at her waist, where a silver mechanical core glows blue-white. Each clip is one “first” for her: the first hug, the first time she finds pockets in her shorts, the first compliment, or sending a queue-jumper to the back of the line.

The series began with its first clips in July 2026 and took off in October: the pockets clip was posted on 17 October 2026 at about 4.8 million views, the compliment clip on 23 October at about 1.6 million and the hug clip on 24 October at about 5.2 million, all marked by TikTok as AI-generated. We found no users’ own versions of it on TikTok yet; the other versions we saw were demos on template sites, and view counts were not audited.

MimicZip makes your own version from one photo of an adult, in a 10-second video: your face and hair on a human-looking android at a tech expo, with a story you pick, from a first hug to a first ice cream. The expo, the core and the crowd are generated, and we do not use the original creator’s character or face.

What happens in the default Robot Girl video

A 10-second video is one continuous phone shot with five beats; this is the first-hug story that comes selected. The other five stories have their own beats. Timings are approximate.

  1. 01 · 0–2s

    A hug is asked for

You stand at a rope barrier with your core glowing at your waist. A visitor in a white T-shirt steps up and asks, “Can I give you a hug?”

  2. 02 · 2–4s

    A look for permission

You turn your head slowly toward the technician behind you, as if asking whether it is allowed. He smiles and nods.

  3. 03 · 4–6s

    Stiff arms

You turn back and lift both arms out to the sides, joints whirring, like a machine learning a new move.

  4. 04 · 6–8s

    The hug

Your arms close around the visitor and your eyes shut.

  5. 05 · 8–10s

    A slow smile

You hold the hug, a warm smile spreads, the core pulses softly and the crowd keeps filming.

Your photo decides whose face and hair the android has. The camera, the crowd and the order of the beats stay the same; choosing another story swaps the beats.

How to add the original sound to your Robot Girl AI video in TikTok

Pick the song inside TikTok when you post, then turn the video's own sound down.
Show the full how-to

The original clips are dialogue and crowd sound recorded in the scene, not a song. Our video already has a few spoken English lines and expo noise, so adding a sound is optional.

  1. Open the @cozy.techdreams post we follow in TikTok and tap the sound at the bottom, “original sound - Cozy TechDreams”, then save it.
  2. Download the silent version of your video from My videos, then in TikTok tap Add sound and pick the saved sound.
  3. Turn the video's own sound down to 0 and slide the sound to start at 0 seconds.
  4. The sound is the original scene’s talk and ambience, so it will not match our lines; if you prefer our lines, keep the sound of the video and skip this.

Need to move where the sound starts? This short video shows how to trim it.

How to make a Robot Girl video in 3 steps

No filming, no prop core to build and no prompts.

  1. Add your photo

Upload one clear photo of yourself or an adult friend, from the head down to at least the waist, facing the camera. JPG, PNG or WebP, up to 10 MB.

  2. Pick the story and the look

Choose one of six stories, a place, a core colour and an outfit, then 9:16 or 16:9. The defaults are the first hug at a tech expo with a silver-blue core.

  3. Make the full video

Spend 1 credit on a 10-second 720p video. Download it and post it with your own sound or the series’ original sound.

Which photo works?

One photo is required: the android’s face. It shows a single adult from the head down to at least the waist, facing the camera, with the face uncovered. A photo that shows the waist helps the glowing core sit naturally.

Works well

  • A clear, well-lit photo of one adult, head to waist or lower, facing the camera
  • Face uncovered, hair visible, nothing in front of the stomach
  • JPG, PNG or WebP, up to 10 MB
  • Between 300 and 6000 pixels on each side

Avoid

  • Pets, toys or drawings: this template takes adults only
  • Babies, children or anyone under 18
  • Group photos, sunglasses, masks, hats pulled low or heavy filters
  • Celebrities, anyone who has not agreed, or a frame taken from the original series

Limits: width-to-height ratio between 0.4 and 2.5. Upload only people you have permission to use.

The six stories

  • First hug

A visitor asks, the android checks with the technician, then hugs back.

  • First pocket

The android discovers pockets and cannot believe it.

  • First compliment

The glow turns pink and the android does not know where to look.

  • Queue-jumper

A cheeky visitor steps in front and is sent to the back with one finger.

  • First rain

The android reaches out a palm and steps into the rain.

  • First ice cream

One careful lick, a flash of light and a very happy android.

Why people use it

  • Six first-time stories

A first hug, pockets, a compliment, a queue-jumper, rain and an ice cream: each is a different written scene.

  • A glowing core in five colours

Silver-blue by default, or gold, rose pink, matte black or clear crystal.

  • For adults only

One adult per video. Pets, toys and children are not accepted.

  • Five places

A tech expo by default, or a lab, a mall, a street or a space station.

  • Bonus previews in every pack

Check your face and the glow before you spend a credit.

  • No subscription

Buy credits once. They never expire.

Questions people ask

What is the Robot Girl AI trend?

A series of short AI clips of a human-looking android with a glowing core at her waist, filmed on a phone at a tech expo, living a small “first”: a hug, pockets, a compliment. It comes from the account @cozy.techdreams.

How do I make the Robot Girl video with my photo?

Upload one photo of an adult, pick a story, a place, a core colour and an outfit, choose 9:16 or 16:9 and make the video. You write nothing; the stories are already written.

Can I try it for free?

Not at the moment. MimicZip has no free tier or free preview; one full 10-second 720p video costs 1 credit, and packs start at $8.99. Every pack includes bonus watch-only previews. There is no subscription, and the full video has no watermark.

Which sound goes with Robot Girl?

The original posts use their own recorded voices and crowd sound, not a song. Our video comes with a few spoken English lines and expo noise, and you can download a silent version to add your own sound in TikTok.

Do the characters talk in my video?

Yes, briefly. The visitor, the technician or the android say a short line in English, for example “Can I give you a hug?” or “Pockets?”. Nothing is lip-synced to a song.

Is this the original creator’s character?

No. The android has your face and hair. We do not use the original creator’s face or character, and MimicZip is not connected to that account.

Will my own face stay on the android?

That is the aim: your face, hair and skin tone stay yours, and only a glowing opening at the waist is added. Check a bonus preview to be sure, and use a sharp, front-facing photo.

Can I use a photo of my pet?

No. This template takes one adult only. Pets, toys, drawings and children are not accepted.

More questions (5)

Can I change the story, the place or the core?

Yes. There are six stories, five places, five core colours and five outfits, and none of them changes the price. The default combination is the one we tested most.

Does the video have a watermark?

No. The full video has no watermark and no text. Previews carry a PREVIEW badge and cannot be downloaded.

How popular is the Robot Girl trend?

The first clip to pass a million views was posted on 14 September 2026 (about 1.3 million), and three October clips reached 1.6 to 5.2 million each. We found no user-made versions yet, so we do not call it a wave.

What if a video fails, and how long are my photos kept?

A failed render returns its credit by itself. Photos are stored privately and deleted after 14 days.

Were the Robot Girl examples really made on MimicZip?

Yes. Both were generated here from a single AI-made photo of a fictional adult, with the default expo and core and one of the six stories.
